Christmas trees are in this category obviously. They are Evergreens. While evergreens do turn yellow when they are nearing death, if it's getting enough nutrients from the body, being an evergreen, it will be green even without sunlight unlike other trees and plants. <br />Which means this is entirely possible, just unlikely. The human body contains a LOT of nutrients so the plant could be getting enough to produce food without sunlight. If it wasn't an evergreen, it wouldn't be green, but a evergreen is just that, EVERGREEN, as long as it isn't dieing then it will keep it's color, and since the thing was GROWING it wasn't dieing. <br /><br />So basically, it's possible from what i've seen, researched and heard. Just very unlikely, because, come on, he has a plant INSIDE him, i've seen painful pictures of plants growing on some people on the OUTSIDE but... seriously.
